These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the box.slicervm.com service ("Service") provided by OpenFaaS Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
This Service is provided "as-is" with no warranty or guarantee of any kind. The Service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without prior notice.
1. Service Description
box.slicervm.com provides a private hosted Firecracker virtual machine included with Slicer Home Edition licenses. Each user receives one VM with persistent storage, accessible via CLI only.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must NOT use the Service to:
- Host, distribute, or transmit any pornographic, obscene, or sexually explicit content
- Engage in any illegal or illicit activity, including but not limited to fraud, money laundering, or distribution of illegal substances
- Store, process, or transmit any content that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Conduct port scanning, network probing, or unauthorized access attempts against any systems
- Launch denial-of-service attacks or participate in botnets or distributed attacks
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam) or engage in email abuse
- Host phishing sites, malware, or any content designed to deceive or harm users
- Engage in cryptocurrency mining without explicit written permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' VMs or our infrastructure
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service
- Use the Service in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to third parties without authorization
3. Resource Limits
Your VM is subject to fair use limits on CPU, memory, storage, and network bandwidth. We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or terminate VMs that consume excessive resources or negatively impact other users.
4. Data and Privacy
You are solely responsible for all data stored on your VM. We do not backup your data. You should maintain your own backups of any important files or configurations.
We may access your VM for maintenance, troubleshooting, or to investigate violations of these Terms.
5. No Warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OPENFAAS LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Violation of these Terms
- Suspected illegal activity
- Non-payment or expiration of your Slicer Home Edition license
- At our sole discretion for any reason
Upon termination, your VM and all associated data may be immediately deleted without recovery.
8. Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OpenFaaS Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
